A great many residents of North Rustioo and vicinity have benontted as the result of the free Red Cross Blood Transfusion Ser- vice and are anxious to express their appreciation by securing don- ors and assuring the success of their local clinic. In the past they have sent many representatives to the Charlottetown Clinic but this time are having a chance to prove their ability to secureienough pgo. pie for a Clinic "on their own." The North Rustioo Sub-division of the Catholic Women's League in co-operation with Avonlea Women's Institutes and other Institutes ine the surrounding districts are doing! all in their power to make the, North Rustioo Clinic an outstand-i ing success. The camp closed with H. simple but very impressive CETlC!I81IighI- lng ceremony after the welcome of the new camp officers and the presentation of green maple leaves to each 1951 Camp Councillor. All campers who wear the green leaf are expected to promote the C.G.- I. T. program in their own church group and community. New officers were elected for the coming year and for the 1952 Camp Council. Helene Manning, Bath- urst. is the new President and Blanche Roper, New Glasgow, the Vice-President. Other executive members are: Elizabeth Mccuiiy, Port Hawkesbury; Beryl Woodside. Kensington and Dawn Vniiis, Saint John. ' The girls decided to try the ex- periment. of a Maritime paper this C.G.I.T. year. beginning in Jan- uary. One editor for each month was chosen as follows: Carol Wood- worth. Kentville; Marilyn Bun- nell. Saint John; Shirley Wilson, Sydney; Shirley I-lamilton. Camp- bcllton; Muriel Fraser, New Glas- gow; Suzanne Squires, Fredericton. The purpose of the paper will be to increase the feeling of fellow- ship among Maritime Canadian Girls in Training groups. The Camp Council crest was de- signed by Marjorie Laidlaw, Syd- iiey Mines. N. 8.. Important Features The most important feature of the camp was the Council Ring nhich'was held each day under the leadership of the Director, Miss Marjorie McBride. Girls' Work Secretary of the Maritime Relig- ious Education Council. and the Camp officers. Mary Atkinson and Marjorie Laidlaw - Nova Sootia: June Bowman Prince Edward Island; Judy Johnson and Kay Barclay .- New Brunswick. Senior C. G. LT. group materials were studied and suggestions for new improvaments were made. C. G.I.T. camping was another important topic and in this group the girls created a policy for Jun- ior leaders at camp. The group that worked on finance, drew up a working budget for C.G.I.T. groups; made plans for National Camp night as well as plans for raising money to help carry on the girls' yvork of the Maritime Relig- ious Education Council. which pro- motes the C.G.I.T. program. The Conference group made plans for 1951-1952 C.G.I.T. Con- ferences. the new conference theme - "To Know God Better" and the hymn. "We would Be Building”. The group on Group Planning out- lined a year's program for the Senior group. This will be sent to all C. (3.1. T. groups in the Muri- iinias in September as groups re- organize. ' Organization and program of Girls' Councils was another im- portant discussion topic. Recom- mendations are being sent to all organized councils and plans are made for the organization of new councils. Will Choose Senior Groups Many national C.G.I.T. issues were discussed such as 9. National C.G.I.T. Camp, 1952. Nine girls lrom the Maritime Provinces will attend. They will be chosen this year from Senior groups through- out the arca. The Maritime Camp Councillors decided to recommend to all Senior groups in the Mari- timcs that each study the COUIII in lcaciership training this year. Christian Youth Week will be held February 3-9. 1952, with the them, "stand Fast in the Faith". In fut. ure years the girls have decided to recommend a separate Tuxis-C.G- l.'r. Week as in previous years The spirit of the camp was one of co-operation and enthusiasin from beginning to end. Everyone enjoyed the work and discussion groups as well as those of recrea- tion and worship. During the eval- uation session the last: eveniiig. it was recommended that the i953 Council should be for a two week period and so plans are being made for another year with this in mind. The two visltors of the Camp Council were Miss Maxine Morse.
