GENERAL O'GradyHaly, commanding I
the forces in Canada, is expected to arrive
here on the 22nd of September, and will be

Sunday a church parade of the city com-
panies of militia, and perhaps one or two
of the nearby country companies, will _be
held. On Monday an inspection will pro-
bably take place. On Tuesday morning
the General will leave Charlottetown. `
A course Arrascriorr-On Thursday
September 6th an opportunity will be
given our citizen of hearing two of our
-most talented artists before they leave
us for some time. We refer to Miss Gert-
rude Davies and Mr. Fred Morris, who
will take part in an entertainment in St. `
Peter’sHall. A most excellent program
has been prepared which will be rendered
by some of our most talented performers
and those who have not lately appeared
in public entertainments. Particulars

BIDEFORD, P. E. I. Glad to inform you
that the work of God is advancing among
_ us on this Mission. On the 16th we re-
l ceived twelve persons into full member-
ship, after they had served the term of
three months on probation. Others are
expected later on. At the last meeting of
the S. S. Committeeof management we
decided to observe a “Rally Day” and also
a “Decision Day" in ourschool at Bideford
to which we are looking forward with
much interest. The losses we are con-
stantlysuifering here from removals and
death very seriously affect our financial
returns, but being determined to make
them up, if at all possible, our estimated

We" are having splendid growing
weatherin the Eastern. Provindes. The
» crops never promised better for many
years. Oats are making a grand crop
and will apparently be the heaviest crop
for the past ten years. Barley is suburb.
Wheat is excellent and our Maritime
population will likely be quite indepen-
dent of the upper and western Canada
wheat llelds this year. Manitoba’s short-
age may slightly raise the price of Hour
nextfall,and while We sympathize with
our western brethren in their crop failure,
it will in no way effect our pastry
bill. Potatoes are the most abundant crop
in years, and, what is more, there are no
bugs this year to eat the crop. ,New
potatoes are already in evidence, and are
both big -and mealy. Roots-ru_tobagas-
are excellent, and so they should be, for
_ the weather was all* that crop could de-
sire.

Strange Case of Kidney Disease Reported
_ in Smith's Ealls.
SM1Tn’s Farms, August 27.-One of the
most remarkable cures ever performed by
Dodd’s Kidney Pills was that of _ Mrs.
George Barnes of this town. Mrs. 'Barnes
was afllicted with Female Weakness and
Urinal Trouble resulting from Kidney
Disease. The disease had also a serious
effect on her senses of sight and hearing,
