October 24,1995 Panther Prints Page 15 Totally Twisted Screen Saver Berkeley Systems New from the makers of the world’s most famous screen saver, AfterDark, comes Totally Twisted. Part of the AfterDark line, Totally Twisted is a tasteless addition to your PC’s screensaver. Flying toilets, blood, and mutated monsters abound. Don’t even ask about the disgusting stuff the chameleons do. The graphic art is good, better than previous versions of AfterDark, but the animation is some- times choppy, even on a 486DX. The thing that makes me dislike the screensaver is the fact that all that effort went into something disgusting. Little green animals vomiting on the screen, messages written on the screen by a man spurting blood from his neck, and worse. I do have to grudgingly admit there are some amusing parts to the screen saver. It has ‘‘Mike’s So-Called Life’’, where you just watch ‘‘Mike’’ walk around his apartment, continually bored. He’s so pathetic, it’s laughable. Then there is ‘‘MimeHunt’’, where you can control a gunsight and can kill mimes in a variety of | ways. Favourite in the office, however, seems to be ‘‘Voyeur’’, where you watch the goings on in an apartment building at night. The silhouettes can be seen doing things including but not limited to murder, suicide, torture, and encountering alien inva- sions. These good ones, however, aren’t enough to make me pay for it. I’d much sooner buy the Loony Tunes AfterDark module. -- Jonathan Davis FREEDOM Staring into the ocean As deep as her intense eyes Admiring it’s seeming eternity Her presence seems to blend with her surroundings Forming a unique beauty Her lips reveal a small But genuine smile A smile of peace within her Her mind is relaxed Her young body feels tense no longer Somehow being here makes her troubles vanish and makes her forget the loneliness felt inside All she needs to feel is the cold water on the skin And, for a little while Don't like the other 90% of UPEI's students and faculty t you dont like what you ree in the pages of the PANTHER PRINTS, tien stop bitching and DO SOMTHING ABOUT I(T! {t 14 YOUR campus Meetings are Wednesdays at 6:00, Room 06 Main} What's Up at The Panther Lounge Here we are at the close of another successful month at the Panther Lounge.
