The sub- way was really won erful. After a strenuoiis week of sight- ’ g we crosscd the English to h'w'it/ci'- one crowded night on the train. Our first arnpss of Switzerland was a no- lnorable one with the mountains rising all arou ; the snow-cap ped peaks and waterfalls glisten- ing in the sunlight. We went dir- ectly to Brig. which is in south- ern Switzerland. From here the camp was spread out over a val- ley of twenty miles in nine lev- els. Each level had six to ten units. and each unit ‘van up of a Swiss Guide Company plus three to six Guides from o- ther countries as guests. A little red train ran up the valley four times a day from camp to camp. The Canadian Guides were divid- ed there were four of us in one unit with fifty German speak- ing Swiss Guides. Approximately seven Guides were in the whole camp. but the only time we were all together was at the Big Rally. Lady Baden-Powell spoke to us at this rally. and there were sev- eral skits in pantominc tbccause of the language bal'l‘l(‘f". and much dancing and singing pre- sented by Guides from different countries.
