Lt showed how willing the men are to assist in the praiseworthy work of encouraging those who have gone to the front, by heiping the dear ones they left behind. A pleasant feature of the parade was the first appearance of the Salvage Corps in uniform. Their uniform is very pretty, consisting of navy blue cap and shirt and white pants, similar to man-of-war sailors, (na cach shirt breast, neatly worked in white silk, is the name of the corps, while | the corp’s silver badge is pinned on the left side, The caps are man-of-war sailor style, and bearthe name cf the corps in silver letters. It is about 15 feet long, and differs fromthe ordinary goose boat in this respect that the propeiling power is in the centre of the boat. The man sits in an upright position within a moveable box, which can be raised and lowered as neces- sity requires. The boat is very light of draught, but the principal feature of her construction, and chief recommendation to the hunter, is her torpedo build which en- ables the sportsman to sail entirely under water, leaving nothing above the surface but asmall pipe to admit the air. Al- though we canvot but admire the ingennity of the inventor, we must say that it is hardly dealing sportsmanlike with the birds. HOTEL ARRIVALS. OSBORNE HOUSE.
