Burdett- wus 23 years of age. I-le enlisted izi November, 1915, in.the 105th, at Char- lottetown. He went overseas in Juno, 1916. and was held in reserve in Eng- land for some time. He went intw action in France six months and ti hall' bcforc his death. The deceased young man was in the true sense of thc word a gentleman in deed and thought. The announcement of his death brought great sorrow_ not only to his widowed mother and relatives, but also to ti wide circle of friends who knew and lovcd him. He was a fav- ourite with the people nu account of his genial and friendly disposition. He will be greatly missed in ilm home. as ho was ii very industrious young miin and a great worker. I-lo wont into this war after careful thought and coming to the conclusion that his duty led him that way. Ile has given his life for his country, and his memory will be revered not only by his own family and relatives, but by all who knew nim. Besides his mother there are three. sisters Mrs. James Taylor, Nine Mile (`reck; Mrs. James Smith,Ilock_v Point: Mrs Seymour Murphy, (‘uni- berland; and six brothers to mourn Richard in Spokane, \V.tslt.. .laincs and Frank in Northwest: Sergt.
