One pill a d _ the Giver of all good that he has permitted so many of us to enjoy the fruits of the labors of the good men who during the past century did so much for the good of men and the glory of God in establishing and extending our order and handing it down to us their successors as a rich legacy to start the new century with. Let us at this season look over the past, and, consider wherein we have failed. and plan for the future good of our cause, the cause of all mankind. \Ve are pleased to be able to state, that from what I have seen and heard of our Divisions that the order is in a lively and prosperous condition, and that activity and energy appear to be general thoughout our whole membership. May they continue to buckle on their whole armour for the fight. There has been much to dishearten and discourage us in the near past, but the Lord blesses and strengthens those who overcome dillieulties and pursue the right course to the end. I have performed a much pleasing duty in visiting the following divisions during the quarter, viz: Victoria on Nov. 12 found in an excellent wnrking condition and 3 new members added; Prince Edward on the 13th Nov. found it vigorous and growing; Elliott on 1-ith Nov. a fine division meeting in one ofthe best halls on the Island. Good work is being done there; Mayflower on the 17th and found true and faithful members at work; North River Loyal 19th and 26thand held two meetings to review and strengthen, and on invitation installed their excellent, stall' of officers on the 7th lust. The divisions is now in a vigorous condition and doing good work and growing every meeting; Kingston Star on the 23rd, revived the division and added 13 new members and doing _ well since; Holdfast on Dec. 4th, revived 'and strengthened by adding 8 new members and growing strong since; Ever Onward on 14th inst, installed their officers and found the division as usual in excellent condition, and last but not least I attended the meeting of the District Division on 19th inst. where we met under the auspices of Triumph, hada profitable session and a. fine pnblic meeting at night. I have found such pleasure and satisfaction is visiting Divisions that I would strongly recommend personal and social visits throughout our bounds, and that as many public meetings be_held as possible in connection with our divisions. I would also suggest that a strong committee be appointed at this session to work with the committees of other societies to carry in to effect the resolution that was passed at our Annual Session relative to the more effective working of the Probhition Law that comes into ‘ ' _/` ` Henderson.
