     held a steady pace today as Octob- 
     
     er rnade its-exit quietly in finan- 
     
     cial markets. 
     
    

    
     The share list firmed in late 
     
     trading, but final prices were no 
     
     better than irregular. Transfers 
     
     dwindled to 416,800 shares, the 
     
     smallest since Oct. 3. The total 
     
     turnover for the month on the 
     
     stock exchange was only 15.658331 
     
     shares against 89,372,212 in the 
     
     same month last year. 
     
    

    
     Despite evidence of a little addi- 
     
     tional seasonal improvement in- 
     
     business. traders played a waiting 
     
     game in nearly all markets. For- 
     
     eign exchanges seitled- down to a 
     
     narrow course along with domestic 
     
     security and commodity markets. 
     
    

    
     Rubber was an outstanding ex- 
     
     cention. futures breaking nearly a
