TH l: A CAPITOL IN IMEEA-ORIAM AMBROSE MICHAEL CORCORAN -A highly respected resident of Piusviile in the person of Ambrose Michael Corcoran passed peacefully to his reward on Dec. 26, 1951. af- ter a short illness of four days. During that time. his pastor. Rev. M. J. Rooney. visited him and ad- ministered the last rites of the Roman Catholic Church. of which he was always a devoted member. The deceased was born in Port- land, Maine. in 1876. and moved with his parents. Mr. and Mrs James Corcoran. to Norboro. P.E.l. when he was one year old. and to Piusville. two years later. Mr. Corcoran was well known throughout a greater part of the Province. and his genial personal- ity and his just and upright deal- ings with his fellow-men, won for him a host of friends. His long life, spent in faithful service to God. loving devotion to his family. and charity to all. was a true example of Christian virtue. He will be sadly missed in his com- munity, but above all in his own family circle. His natural fondness for children and his rare ability to educate them while entertaining them with his inimitable stories. has left undying memories with his sons and daligliters and his grand- children. . His friends and neighbors will ever remember his fireside hos- pitality and their pleasant associa- tions with him in all community affairs. His funeral, to St. Anthony's Church. was largely attended and the Solemn Requiem Mass was chanted by his pastor. Rev. M. J. Rooney. assisted by Rev. L. J. Mc- Kenna as deacon. and Rev. Leon- ard MacDonald as sub-deacon. The Rev. W.E. Monaghan and Rev. J.N. Trainor assisted in the sanctuary. Rev. M,J. Rooney conducted the services at the grave as his mortal remains were tenderly laid to rest in the adjoining cemetery. Pall bearers were Lance Dalton. Melvin McGregor, Keith Kelly. Herman Corcoran, Warburton Mur- ray and Nelson L. Gallant. There are left to mourn. beside: his sorrowing widow, the former Mary Kinch of Alma, the following sons and daughters: Sister Mary Agatha and sister Mary Ambrose. of the Congregation of St. Martha: (Pearle) Mrs. Lance Dalton.
