HOckey Panther fans finally got their money's worth Monday night as a capacity crowd enjoyed an International Hockey game with the Chinese National team. Before coming to Ch'town to play the UPEI Panthers, the Chinese team had played Dal. and SMU last week, losing to the Huskies and winning their game with the Tigers. UPEI did not know what to expect from the team as the game of hockey is relatively young in China. The Chinese team set the pace for the Panthers with their ac- curate passes and fast skating. This resulted in three quick goals within the first ten minutes. After this the Panthers seemed to take the game a little more seriously and the teams went to the dressing roams after the first period with the score of 3-2. Both the second and third periods produced some of the better hoc— key played at the Forum this year. After two periods the score re— mained a close 4—2 with the Panthersstill very much in the game. So far Albert Roche had scored both goals for the Panthers. The third period saw a little rougher style of hockey and at times it became chip— py, but this only proves how much each team wanted to win. With the score 4—3 (for the Chinese) and about one minute re- maining Coach Hynes remmnai the goalie for an extra man. This resulted in a goal by Bob Hicks with only thirteen seconds left. Fans left the game satisfied with the play of the Panthers and their competition. The Chinese team now have a record of 1—3-1 and it would not take much to speculate that within a few years they could reach international recognition of the same caliber as the Canadians, Russians, Aflh I ericans, and czechs; UPEI SUN Novefiber 11,1982 INTRAMURAL AND RECREATIONAL SCHEDULE HOCKEY ‘ MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15 7:00 PM — BLANCHARD vs ALUMNI 8:15 PM — NO. 5 VS SELECTS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 16 7:00 PM - MEAN MACHINE vs SOPH & FRESH— 8:15 PM - ENGINEERS VS S & D's WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17 7:00 PM - NO. 5 vs SOPH & FRESH 8:15 PM — BLANCHARD vs S & D's THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18 , 7:00 PM - ENGINEERS VS MEAN F 8:15 PM - ALUMNI vs SELECTS BASKETBALL MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15 8:00 PM " BLANCHARD VS V RRIORS 'CHINE 9:15 PM - ENGINEERS vs “AY STUDSNTS INDOOR SOCCER TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 16 6:30 PM - BERNIE VS DUCKIES 7:30 PM - BLANCHARD VS L & M VOLLEYBALL WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 36 7:30 PM — BLANCHARD VS BIOLOGY 8:30 PM 4 EN INEEPS vs MAR & BERNIE I?IZF){)}TEB3¥IHIQ MONDAY, NOVEMBER 15 6:00 PM - BIOLOGY vs BLANCHARD WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 17 6:00 PM - DUCKIES VS BERNIE THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 18 6:00 PM ~ BIOLOGY CLUB WOMEN KEEP FIT CLASSES RECREATIONAL HOCKEY MONDAY - 9:00-11:00 AM TUESDAY — 9:00—11:00 AM WEDNESDAYf 9:00—11:00 AM THURSDAY — ‘9:00—11:00 AM FRIDAY — 9 00-11:oo AM RECREATIONAL SKATING MONDAY — 1:30—3 00 PM TUESDAY — 'l:30-3:OO PM 3 WEDNESDAY— 1:30—3200 PM' ‘”THURSDAY a ‘1}30f§f00”3 Photos by Troy Merrick MONDAY - 11:30-12:30 PM 12:30e1:30 PM TUESDAY ~"11:3o-12:30 PM My ‘ WEDNESDAY- 11:30-12:30 PM. 12:30-1:3o PM THURSDAY — 11:30-12:30 PM FRIDAY - 11:30-12:30 PM 12:30-1:30 PM
