This is a project of ten students from Mount Allison University and the U.de Moncton, working as a stu- dent Christian Movement group. we are planning for app- roximately sixty delegates with an even number of anglephones and francophones. we hope that you will dis— tribute these application folders among interested students so that thewUniv— ersity of Prince Edward Island will be represented. we are extending an invitat- ion to all Atlantic univer— sities. ' The delegates to the Conf- erence will enter a study. Bilingualism. Myth or, Rearity . guided by experienced and informed people, of the bi- lingualism situation in Atlantic Canada; which will encompass the historical, legal, socio—economical and ' educational aspects. The im- plications of Maritime Union for the Acadians will be discussed on the final day. A cultural program will be an important part of the conference with singers, theatre, and "La Soiree Acadienne". - we hope that these activ- ities will provide the opp— ortunity for respective cultural groups to practice the languages and to.come to a clearer understanding of the difference in life phil- osophies. With this undere standing, the fear associat- ed with Bilingualism will diminish and, hopefully, disappear. More reading material will be sent to the delagates upon receipt of the applic— ation form.
