Mrs. Lockhenrt said that her husband had accepted a position with the Indian Department in Saskatchewan in 1929 and that she, by accident, had learned that the department was anxious to organ- ize a Homemakefis Club on the rr-serve, which supported between G00 and 700 Indians. Having had some experience she offered her services, nnd was accepted. The women, vvilo, she said. had their own Women's Auxiliary, and were very interested in (lie church. which they nllvays kept very clean, were glad to join a Homemakers Club. Assisted by the school teach- er's wife, Mrs. Lockhart gave cocking demonstrations and the women and girls were apt pupils. They also taught gardening. The Lockharis were later trans- ferred to Onion Lakc Reserve, and there, loo, a Homemakers Club was organized.
