Be— _ lieve it or not we have only about 3 1/2 months left at University. Over the holidays and in the past week, the executive has been kept busy working on fund raising events for this semester as well as getting plans under way for Senior Week. The biggest fund raising. event planned is a Marathon Dance which is~ to be held starting Thur. Jan. 27 at noon until Fri. Jan. 28 at 6p.m. The dance is open to all UPEI students and faculty and sponsors can be from on or off campus. Rules for the dance are similar to most marathons en— suring all participants are treated equally. I During the dance to be held in the Panther - The Baha'i student club of UPEI is hosting a World Religion Day commemoration on Sunday, January 16 at the Robertson Memorial Library. It begins at 1:00 p.m. and at 2:00 p.m. there will be a talk by Greg Johnson of the Eskasoni MicMac Reserve, Cape Breton. He will discuss the religious traditions and beliefs of the Indian people of North America. The public as well as the members of the University community Chinese Students Asso’ciation on campus Students Association at UPEI? It is unquestionable that we find Chinese students ittending almost every Can- adian university. For this reason, most of the univer- :ities in Canada have a Chi- ‘ ese Students Association on ampus. Greg Johnson is a gra— duate of the high school that was originally a part of the St. Dunstan's University. He later at— tended St. Thomas and St. Francis xavier Universities and graduated from the MaritimecSchool 65 Social {Work with a degree in social work. In his career, Mr. Johnson has used his training extensively on behalf of his people having 'worked with the Department Perhaps not too many people know that there is Hon. John Diefenbaker, as to whether or not he will accept our invitation to be speaker on Con— vocation Day.
