It pre vails under all conditions of lo- lcation, soil‘and climate. More- f over, it is but a step to 3, consumption, and herein lies _the great danger. It is just as well to avoid the step. 7 It is rather strange that _-Scott’s Emulsion should con- ’ (din just the very things that _nature requires in curing iscrofula.. The pure Nor- _wegian cod liver oil helps to ` build up the whole body and enables one to acquire new, -healliy, solid flesh. The hy- _ pophosites of lime and soda uct as a tonic on the blood and tissues, replacing the Waste and giving strength and new structure where it is most needed. Because of its mild action, pleasing taste and nutritive properties, Scott’s Emulsion is vastly superior to' plain cod liver oil. There is nothing that will do more good in the case of scrofula . than Scott’s Emulsion. So Le c nsiderable quantity of beer and spiri s having been seized with- in the pxst few weeks, and being held in custody, the question arises, what ought `to ba done with it? The Guardian is strongly of opinion that it ought to be publicly destroyed. To sell the seized liquor by public auc ion or otherwise for the proiit ot the Government would be for the authors of the law tu engage for the time in the very business which the law forbids. And no doubt the liquor so sold would prove quite as intoxicating and quite as in jurious tothe public health and morals as it it were illegally sold by a private trader. Strong objection also lies against the private sale of the seized liquors to druggists or thelegally appointed vendors. The chances are that the seized stuff is quite unfit for medicinal use. It ls the repeated statement of those in t-he liquor trade that the tendency of prohibition is to force upon -the market vile liquors which are unfit 'for uso.
