The affair causes quite a flutter in military circles and is eagerly pounced upon by the anti Wolseley clique. News published here says that Wolseley has relieved the British troops in Egypt from police duty. The native force is now considered sufficient to ensure order. The Greek residents et Tantah have seiz- ed several of the leading men at Tantah- and accused them ofexciting the populace, to rebellion, and also to massacre ali stran- gers, as coon as the English troops leave the vicinity.
