Fish Plants At Souris Closing For The Season ..'Some '15 to 50 persons have been laid off at Souris as the m. letlng and chicken haddie canning plants close down for the season. ,Full employment is slightly more ,than 100. Skeleton crews are kept on cleaning up. Three draggers sailed Sunday and if their catch in the next few days exceeds scnie 25,000 pounds, the filleting plant will re-open for a short time to process the catch. Otherwise the fish will be shipped the mainland, it was learned. possibly to Portland, Maine.
