A Pleasant Evening.
Tun manss at Montague meta pleas-
ing surprise on last Thursday evening.
The ladies ol the congregation had or-
ganised an Aid Society and during the
past summer had prepared for a bazaar
and social which they held on tie 21st
ol Dec., realizing the handsome sum
ol $291 clear ot all expense. Among
the articles prepared was a large and
beautilul autograph quilt-the proceeds
of which amounted to $125. The quilt
arranged. traced and interwoven and is
an ornamental heirloom of many asso-
ciations.
On Thursday evening the ladies en-
tered the home of tae Pastor en masse
with quilt and baskets determined on
good cheer and good cheer there was.
They first presented the pastor, Rev.
W. H. Spencer, with the quil ed heir-
ress:
