20 The Wed., Sept. 15, 1 BRISTOL The farm property of the late George McKenzie, has been sold to Wilbert Jay of Pisquid who oll move to the home right away to operate the farm. Mrs. Amy McKenzie, who has been here from Boston for a month at her old home, has sold _ the farm preperty and will leave again soon on return to the USA., where she will reside with members of her family where she has spent the winters since the death of her husband a few year ago. The new owner will take up residence soon. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Mac- Kenzie, and daughter are here from Toronto for a vacation. Two more of the old schools in this vicinity have closed their doors for the last time, Canavoy and St. Andrews. Both are closed forever along with the old Har- bor schools. All the children will go to the two new schools in Morell by’ bus. More teachers, classrooms and buses will be required for the extra load. The hibrary in the older high school has been converted into a class- room. The two room school at St. Peters “Lake and ~ Bristol. school still carry on as before. Highways and streets in the village. now have mounds of clay piled ‘out into the center { the traffic lanes as the job 4! ‘digging the -sewer-line.trench- es and re-building the shoulders of the road goes on. Crews of men are at work-in different places and some sections are so narrow car drivers have to use great care. The trench for the fall out pile line is being dug along. the railway line from the Red Head crossing to Murphy’s swamp at present and machines and men are at work on this section of the line in an effort to keep ahead of the frost. James McAdam, was a recent visitor to this vicinity visiting his two sisters, Mrs. Patrick Murphy, and Mrs. Grover Cof- fin, for the finst time in 46 years. Mr. McAdam is an engineer with the world’s langest acquarium, the John Sheed Acquarwm in Cmcago, TH., and has heen there for many years now. Mr. McAdam has left again for his Chicago home. = A visitor here after a long absence is Stewart Mosher. Mr. Mosher left Bristol te take up residence in Halifax, N.S., some 30 years ago and at present is spending some time with his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Freeman Jay: Jack Bambrick, Who was bere from Boston for some time, has sold his property that he pur- chased from Cyrus Lapierre, some years ago for a summer residence. The new owner Mr: Gotell, is residing in the village now. ~ Barney MacDonald, who was here from Toronto on a_ brief visit, left Thursday morning on return to his duties in that city- after visitng hs father and mother in the city and other relatives around the old home in Bristol. : Tenders are being called for the new bridge across the Morell River.
