was not just a theoretical organizaticn. What really surprises me is that the leaders of the Business Society receive no cent for this wcnderful job that they are doing. It is true indeed that the service we render to others is really the rent we pay for our roan on this earth. At least these hard-working kids leading the Business Society saw it that way. Lest I forget — the University of Prince Edward Island was represented in a big may at the Atlantic Federation of Business Students conference held at Dalhousie University, Halifax, in the fall. The Business Society subsid— ized this trip greatly. I was persmally me of those that were ‘in the ' cgnference. It was a hectic three days of» . business education. ' Thanks be to the society for making that opportunity available to the five of us that attended. Due to. our very active partic'- .\ pation in the conference, all the students in the Business departments of the Atlantic Federation 1 of Business Students ' msisted that the next conference is going to be held here at UPEI next fall. So know it now in time that the Business ‘ Society is going to host this be-alle-and—end-all conference. . Well, since the Business Society is the result of trial and error, some errors were also made by the student leaders. An error doesn't became a mistake until we refuse to correct it. So, our honourable leaders, yours were ordinary errors and no miStakes. 'Ihey were inevitable but were neither great nor destructive. Che of sudu was our failure to invite sate businessmen from Charlottetown and other areas of the country to cute and speak to us in our parties at campus. I also feel that those parties on campus could have been more beneficial to us had they been more educational. All in all, yours was a jobwell done. I donot lmow how to express my feelings m the colossal loss of this year's Executive and class reps. I wish they stayed in office for me more year to make the Society more strcng. I am saying this because there is something that is mud'l more scarce, something finer far, some- thing rarer than ability. It is the ability to recognize ability.’ aloe more I say, thank you for recognizing your abilities and putting them to our advantage . The members of the Executive and class reps. in the Business Society are: Mary Anne Hutchinson, (president) ;- David Murphy, (vice-president); Marlene Gallant (secretary); Scott MacKenzie (treasurer); representatives Ivy Hender (Junior) ; Jo—Anne Doyle (Sophcmore) , and Shelley Taylor (Freshman) ., I extend my great gratitude to the faculty members of the Department of Business Administratim for their fatherly relatio relationships, care and love for our interests. All yourihands were on deck for‘the solution of our prdalems. 'Ihese are: Assistant Professor W. Isenor (chairman); Assoc- iate Professor J .W. .MacCarvill, ASSOCiate Professor J. Revell, Assistant Professor G.R. ' Bond, Assistant Professor R. Collins, Associate Professor I. Kilpatrid<, and visiting professor, D. Nemetz.
