His mother was left a widow with a family of six children when John, the eldest was a lad oi sixteen years. Necessity called for hard work and careful management. He married Miss Annie MacLean daughter of the late Allan Macliean. who survives him. and they settled on the farm in Argyle Shore. which ha occupied until his death. There they laboured together and were him with health and happiness. with their two children. Harold Allan and Edna. May. they were beginning to partake of well earned comforts, when this sudden break came. A devoted wife ls now a widow, and she and the children feel keenly the loss of one who was so dear to them. Two sisters also survive, Flora. Ann. widow of the late William MacRae, oi Bonshaw. and Margaret. wife oi Percy Wilson of Providence R. I. Mr. MaoKinnon was a member oi the church of Scotland. and was always faithful and zealous.
