      is
      all
      about
      work

      “T’m
      looking
      to
      focus
      on
      things
     
     
      we
      can
      control,”
      says
      Taylor,
      the
      new
     
     
      coach
      of
      the
      mens
      hockey
      Panthers.
     
     
      “That’s
      our
      effort,
      our
      execution
      and
      our
     
     
      emotion.
      We’re
      looking
      at
      things
     
     
      period-by-period,
      game-by-game,
      and
     
     
      we
      believe
      that
      success
      will
      come
      at
      the
     
     
      end
      if
      we
      do
      the
      things
      we
      know
      we
     
     
      can
      control.”
     
    

    
     
      Taylor,
      a
      Panther
      for
      four
      years
     
     
      (including
      two
      as
      captain)
      and
      a
      former
     
     
      assistant
      coach
      at
      UPEI
      and
      with
      the
     
     
      PEI.
      Rocket,
      is
      thrilled
      to
      return
      to
      his
     
     
      alma
      mater
      as
      head
      coach.
     
    

    
     
      “T
      think
      it’s
      a
      tremendous
      honour
     
     
      and
      it’s
      a
      challenge
      that
      I
      respect
      very
     
     
      much.
      I’mareal
      believer
      in
      this
      university
     
     
      and
      what
      it’s
      done
      for
      me.
      I
      cherish
      every
     
     
      moment
      that
      I
      have
      as
      a
      head
      coach,”
     
     
      said
      Taylor.
      “I
      will
      do
      my
      very
      best

      of
      it.
      It’s
      a
      responsibility
      that
     
     
      I
      hold
      dear
      to
      my
      heart
      and
      take
      very

      back
      over
      the
      chain
      of
     
     
      great
      coaches
      at
      this
      university:
      the
      Vince
     
     
      Mulligans,
      the
      Doug
      Curries,
      the
      Mike
     
     
      Kellys,
      the
      Billy
      MacMillans,
      and
      I
      feel
     
     
      honoured
      to
      have
      the
      same
      position
      as
     
     
      those
      guys.”
     
    

    
     
      Taylor,
      however,
      doesn’t
      feel
     
     
      the
      expectation
      to
      live
      up
      to
      their
     
    
   
   
    
     
      legacies.
      “I
      don’t
      feel
      any
      pressure
      that
     
     
      I’m
      coming
      after
      Mike
      Kelly
      or
      Vince
     
     
      Mulligan.
      I’m
      a
      different
      coach
      than
      they
     
     
      are
      and
      I
      will
      do
      things
      differently.
      I’m
     
     
      not
      comparing
      myself
      to
      them
      by
      any
     
     
      means.”
     
    

    
     
      Taylor
      wants
      to
      set
      a
      high
     
     
      standard
      for
      his
      team
      on
      and
      off
      the
      ice.
     
     
      “T
      will
      set
      high
      expectations,
      but
      I’ll
     
     
      create
      an
      environment
      that
      supports
     
     
      those
      players
      to
      reach
      them.
      My
     
     
      expectations
      don’t
      solely
      apply
      to
      the
     
     
      hockey
      rink.
      I
      expect
      that
      the
