County, New Brunswick, on Thurs-
day, Dr. Morehouse, the candidate in
support of the Hazen Administration,

Conservative candidates were return-

dicate that there has not been much
change of political sentiment in that
Province with regard to provincial

Bethmann-Hollwegl in the Reichstag,
yesterday discussed disarmament and
international arbitration, but with-
out departing from the wellknown
standpoint of the German govern-
ment, offten declared on former occa-

the chief dlfllculty in the disarma-
ment agreement in the impossibllltyi

IN MEMORIAM.
Daniel 8.- Penwarden, was horn at
North Carleton, P. E. I., on the 13th
day of August, 1853 and died
and his home in Ellerslie on March
17th., 1911. Mr. Penwarden moved to
Ellerslie about seventeen years ago
where he has since lived, and besides
farming has a small saw mill. He
was a man of retiring -disposition,
liut he always endeavored to do what
he believed to be right. For ,, num-ber
of years _he was a very consistent
memiher of the Methodist Church, and
he will be much missed. The funeral
services at the house, church and
grave were conduct-ed by the Rev. L.
J. Leard. He is survived by his widow
Miss Jane A. McLeod, Brook-

that it has deferred to the wishes of
the Boy Scout Movement which op-
posed its plan to send twenty Boy
Scout( to the Coronation. Instead

CONCERT IN CAPE TRAVERSE.
-The people of Cape Traverse were
treated to a rare literary and musi-
,cal treat on Friday evening last when
the annual school concert was held in
the hall at that place. Fred McLean,
the talented Scotch singer of Monta-
gue, who so kindly assisted in the
program came up a day or two be-
f0l‘€ the event and certainly held up
bln l`€Putation as a comedian and vo-
calist must have preceeded him judg-
ing from the great concourse of peo-
ple that gathered that evening at
Cape Traverse. The hall, which was
filled to overflowing while standing
space in the aisles and even in the
porch were held at 5 high premium.
The progfram was in charge of Miss
Edith Bell principal, Miss Edna Nel-
son assistant and Mrs. J. A. G. Ellis
of M tague. The music rendered by
Mrs XE was of a very high order
and the atcpayers owe her a debt of
gratitude for her assistance.
The principal Miss Bell who ha/il
charge of the play and drill, etc., in-
structed the young ladies and gentle-
men that participated in the different
parts. The part she played herself in
the comedy "All is not gold that
glitters" was a masterpiece in itself
and was well rendered from start to
finish and received the hearty ap-
plauseof the whole house. Special
mention must he m-ade of the duet by
Bessie and Vernal Bell. The sum of
$70 was realized. M-any thanks arc
due the promoters of this splendid
concert as the proceeds are to be us-
ed to further extend the now magni-
flcicnt library for the Cape Traverse
school which stands second to none
on Prince Edward Island for appear-
ance, teachers and gcnerah equip-
ment.
