Lady Rose, who had been .very much in the contention, threw driver Rankine McLaine just as the hit the three-quarter pole and, finished riderless in fourth position but was set back to ninth. Brlttons Lassie was third with Just Flicks fourth and the re- _mainder the big field pretty well strung out. 2nd Heat: Mac Fingo led his field away on the second trip down. Bud the Tramp tried for the rail but tucked into the second slot half way up the backside. Posi- tions remalned unchanged until half way up the backstretch the second trip round when Bud the Tramp and My Ann both opened wide, Bud the Tramp took over the lead before they reached the three- quarter pole and was never headed, thereafter. My Ann and Mac Fin- go, the winner of the first heat had a great stretch duel with the Ann mare getting the nod by a head. Lady Rose, with driver Roy Bar-,_ nett replacing the injured Rankine McLaine. was fourth after coming from ninth place with Brittons, Lassie fifth, and the remainder strung out a few lengths back. Third Heat: It was a thrilling stretch drive between Bud the Tram and Lady Rose in the third and fnal heat of the futurity. Bud had the rail going away and led all the way from the word go. As they came by the stands and into the turn the second trip. Lady Rose went to a drive to crce up to Bud's ad. Past the t ree- quarter poe and into the stretch the pair raced on even terms. June went into the lead just at the three-quarters pole and Lee McKillop. trotting very fast started to come in. they _hit the top of the stretch June French was still showing to the front, but in the great stretch drive. it was Lee McKiilop, driven by Joe O'Brien. who finished un- der the wire a neck to the good over the June French mare.
