We extract the reference to Mr. Roche, which reads as follows **James Jeffrey Roche is one of the brightest of Buston’s younger generation of poets. His historical ballads dealing with the victories of American men-of war on the high seas have won him considerable appreciation at the hands of all true and Several of his dash. ing lyrics have recently appeared in the pages of the Century and other first-class periodicals. Mr. Roche’s literary talents are of a very high @rder. He is the chosen poet of all important events or occasions in Boston and is personally very popular with all classes of the community. He edits the Pilot, a weekly newspaper, which is one of the brainiest sheets in New England, and is, moreover, a valued contributor to the pages of New York Life, Mr. Roche is, socially, the soul of geniality. He has a magnetiem which draws friends in bosta around him.
