      When
      I
      first
      heard
      that
      people
      were
      throwing
      out
     
     
      the
      X-Press
      because
      of
      the
      GLB
      survey,
      I
      was
     
     
      offended
      and
      thought
      this
      community
      had
      a
      long
     
     
      way
      to
      go
      before
      it
      reached
      any
      level
      of
      tolerance.
     
     
      The
      survey
      results
      proved
      me
      wrong.
      The
      majority
     
     
      of
      respondents
      accept
      homosexuality
      and
     
     
      bisexuality
      here
      at
      UPEI.
      We
      got
      approximately
     
     
      fifty
      responses,
      and
      while
      we
      cannot
      make
     
     
      conclusions
      about
      the
      whole
      population
      from
      this
     
     
      small
      number,
      we
      can
      still
      get
      an
      idea
      of
      how
      people
     
     
      on
      campus
      feel
      about
      homosexuality.
      The
      feeling
      is
     
     
      acceptance.
     
    

    
     
      A
      number
      of
      people
      told
      us
      that
      they
      thought
      the
     
     
      supplement
      was
      a
      waste
      of
      paper.
      I
      disagree.
      The
     
     
      whole
      point
      of
      doing
      this
      supplement
      was
      to
     
     
      educate.
      I
      have
      no
      desire
      to
      change
      your
      opinion,
     
     
      even
      if
      I
      disagree
      with
      it,
      I
      just
      want
      to
      challenge
     
     
      your
      opinion.
      Part
      of
      the
      purpose
      of
      having
      a
     
     
      student
      newspaper
      is
      to
      intrigue,
      stimulate,
      educate,
     
     
      and
      hopefully
      challenge
      the
      reader.
     
    

    
     
      When
      I
      say
      challenge,
      I
      mean
      the
      content
      of
      the
     
     
      paper
      makes
      you
      think;
      it
      makes
      you
      consider
     
     
      opinions
      and
      facts
      that
      you
      have
      never
      considered
     
     
      before,

      ideas
