Meeting opened by sing- ing the Institute Ode and repeat- I.ng Creed in unison. In the absence of the president the vice-president. Mrs. John Wood took the chair. Roll call was an- swered by eight members and one visitor present. Minutes of last meeting were read and signed. The sick committee reported making calls and taking fruit to those who were ill. Miss Cather- ine McLeod thanked the members lor fruit sent to her. Bills of 34.90 were ordered paid. The secretary was asked to write to the Woollen Mills to get their prices on sending old wooliens to p be made into blankets. Collection Me. I Mrs. Robert Andrews invited the members for next meeting. Meet- ing closed by repeating Lord's Prayer. Mrs. Robert Carr played several selections on the organ. A delicious lunch was served by the hostess. .............. KILMUIR W. I. Kilmulr women's Institute mem- bers met in the school on Thurs- day evening. The president, Mrs T W. MacDonald, presided. The meeting opened by all repeatins "19 "collect for club women." Elim- members answered roll call with a suggestion for a cold drink. Three visitors were present. The minutes or the last meeting were read by the secretary. Mid approved. Mrs. Cyril Johnston turn- ed in 322.25 collected for the Salva- tion Army. The total collection is to be forwarded by the secretal'.V- Discussion regarding installation of a septic sewerage system in the school (allowed. It was decided to request further lniormation from the Department of Education belore making a final decision. Hans were made for a dance and Ice cream social to be held in the near future. Mrs. M.N. MacGowan was appointed to purchase supplies. and the secretary. Miss Anne Mac- Donald was asked to advertise and to secure music for the occasion. Each member was asked to make tudge for the candy sale. Alter the correspondence tor the month had been read, the sick committees re- ported on calls made. Several invitations -were received for the next meeting, drawing in favor of Mrs. P.W. MacDonald. who invited the members to meet at her home on Thursday for the next meeting. John Robert Lamont Campbell. was read. and the mem- bers decided to send for one book or receipts. The secretary reported ' that 345.35 was realized at the ice cream social at Willard Brown's. Miss Emeline Macbeod. Mrs. Leigh Paynter and Mrs. A. H. Campbell were appointed on the new sick committee. The members decided to clean the school before the walls are re-iinished. An excellent report on the annu- al convention was given by Mrs. Willard Brown.'Included in the re- port was the recommendation that 85.00 be paid to the Jubilee fund. or 25 cents from each member. each year. A vote of thanks was tendered the delegates. Mrs. Brown and Mrs. Cecil Campbell. Thanks -was also tendered Mrs. E. Protitt and Mrs. W. Brown, at whose homes the ice cream sooials were held. Mrs. Thomas Campbell in- vited the members tor the Septem- ber meeting. The only item of entertainment was an interesting and well told story by Mrs. John F. Mac-Leod.
