JOHNSTONE Very rarely indeed has Queens County witnessed so large and so Impressive a funeral service as that which was held on Sunday after- noon, July 23rd, for Mrs. Edwin C. Johnstone in the Clyde River Pres- byterian Church. Almost every home ln the surrounding districts was re- presented in the vast and sympathe- tic throng. Bhe taught school for two years in the Province and for a year contin- ued her education at the Ladies’ College, Halifax, N. S. In evefl' community in which she made her home, even for s. brief period, ahe left an ever widening circle of friends. After her marriage on July 6, 1928, to Edwin C. Johnstone, Mrs. John- stone made her home with her hus- band in Charlottetown and two years later there .was bom to them e. daughter, June Bonncll. In the midst of this unalioyed happiness oi their home life there was no warn- ing for another year and a half of the sad blow that was so soon to fall. About eighteen months before hor death Mrs. Johnstone developed the malady, which after an extend- efi period of weakness and distress, proved fatal. Throughout o, long ill- ness Mrs. Johnstone displayed a spirit or almost unbelievable hero- ism. Always hor thought was for her loved ones and never for her- self.
