Dunn, engineer on the dredge, stated
that while McGee was approaching
in a punt he had dropped a quantity
of sand from the scoop, with the in-
tention of splnshingi him. McGee's
boat was struck and swamped,tliro\v

were thrown and the dredge lowered
within his reach, but he was a good

A very prettv home wedding was
soleninized last evening at the home
of the bride's mother when Walter
McKinley, assistant superintendent
of the Sydney Foundry and Machine
Works, and Miss Alice Herring, be-
came man and wife. Tha bride's wed-
ding dress was of light cream satin
du chlne, with fringe trimmings, and
llel' Eflinll-awav suit was of navy blue
hroadcloth and picture hat. Only the
immediate relatives were present. The
bride was given away by her uncle,
Roland McNeil. After s dainty lunch
was served and much merrymaking,
the happv couple took the night train
for P. E. Island and other maritime
points of interest. On their return
they will reside in their nsw home on
Townsend Street, this city. The bride
was the recipient of a large number
of valuable and useful gifts. Sydne-
exc. Mr. McKinley was formerly of
Charlottetown and has many friends
