     Tuesday, Dec. 1: The guest speaker at the December meeting of the Natural 
     
     History Society will be Dr. Katherine Clough, who will be speaking 
     
     on mushrooms. The meeting takes place at the Farm Centre on Univer— 
     
     sity Ave. in Charlottetown and starts at 8 p.m. 
     
    

    
     Saturday, Dec. 19: The kickoff of the annual Christmas Bird Counts, at 
     
     the National Park. For more information, contact Dan or Geoff. 
     
    

    
     Saturday, Dec. 26: The Hillsborough Christmas Bird Count, to coincide 
     
     with National Birdwatching Weekend. 
     
    

    
     Saturday, Jan. 2: The Montague Christmas bird Count ends the counts 
     
     for another season. 
     
    

    
     Tuesday, Jan. 5: The January meeting of the NHS will be held at the 
     
     Farm Centre at 8 p.m. Guest speaker will be Jim Campbell of Holland 
     
     College in Summerside. Mr. Campbell specializes in underwater 
     
     photography and will have many photos of reefs and fish.
