Even though there was no formal natural history society in existence through the mid 1890‘s. the Accounts section at the back of the Minute Book indicates that at least a few members continued to maintain some level of activity on behalf of the society. On Apr. 2, 1893 Francis Bain was paid $2.00 for "printing lists", and in the spring of 1895 The Birds of North America was purchased from J.H. Shnider (sp.) for $20.00 plus $2.32 for express and duty. At the same time John McSwain was paid $2.00 for The Birds of Ontario. An 1899 entry indicates payment of $10.00 to Mr. Batt for the 1898 excursion. ' Referencez' Natural HistOry Society Minute Book, 1889-1903.
