Fbr the first show this exhibition has been a tremendous success. The speaker predicted that the fox exhibition will go forward in three years as far as the Provincial EXhlbl- ' tlon work has in forty years. The ex- hlbitorg have been the most import- ant factors in the success of the en-. tcljprlse. The affairs are in the hands of competent men; everything is being done in a fair and business- like way. Co-operatlvc selling was begun in thLs province by the Co- operative Egg and Poultry Associa- tion. At thLs exhibition we have many exhib- itors. but. we will have few prize win- ners. The unsuccessful exhibitors will be able to learn much from the prize- wlnner. Charlottetown is proud to be the seat. of the first provincial fox show. In closing the Mayor extend- ed s cordial welcome to visitors and exhibitors. PRESIDENT SIIARPE IS PLEASED Mr. G. Shelton Sharpe in a. short and pointed address said that he was -pr0l.ld to be able to take part in the greatest fox show in North American continent. He stated that he has seen the different shows but none to equal the present one. The Island is fortunately situated as far as the fox industry is concerned. Fox fur of the very best quality can be produced in this climate. Only by careful selec- tion. however. can foxes be produced to command the highest prices. The fox breeder has the privilege of selling his product co-opsratively. By this means the whole market can be commanded. The Canadian Na- tional organization began in 1022 when a small island delegation went to Montreal to secure the charter. There are now officials all over the country doing the work of the organ- ization. The present exhibition. he concluded. will raise the standard and promote the securing of better breeding shack.
