Hr. Speaker and Gentlemen of the Legislative Assembly: Ihave great pleasure in meetign you at this the Third Session nt thc Thirty- fourth General Assembly of Prince Ed- ward Island. Since we last met the Coronation of His Gracious Majesty Kin!! E*1Wll'd W2 Seventh, as King of Great Britain and Ireland and cd His Majestic Domlnions beyond the Seas has taken place. This event was celebrated with great magnifi- cence and was attended by representa~ NVQ from all of His Hajesty’s Dominions. Unfortunately the illness of the King at the day dnt set lor the Coronation neces-` sitated a postponement, and owing to this many ol the representatives of the dilfcrent Provinces. Lwho had proceeded to England to attend this great event, were unable to remain to the ' date to which the same was postponed. It was intended that this Province should have been represented ~ by my Premier; but owing to the postponement, on account of the Kings illness, he was unable t0 re- main until the actual function took place, and with great regret he and many other representatives returned to their respect- ive Provinces without having actuallyl witnessed the ceremony of Coronation.
