CROSSROADS Canadian Crossroads _Inter- national (CCI) is a private, non- profit and non-denominational organization of ‘volunteers in Canada and 29 countries in Africa, Asia, the South Pacific and South and Central America. We seek to educate the public on Canadian and third world development issues. A major part of this work involves bringing volunteers to Canada and sending Canadians overseas on four to six month work placements. The P.E.1. local committee for CCI is currently recruiting parti- cipants for the 1987 program. UPEI Community Volunteer Network Do you have some extra time and a special interest or just some extra time? If so, why not con- sider some type of volunteer work. The Volunteer Network, co-sponsored by the Student Union and the Department of Student Services, may be able to assist you. ‘The network is designed to put members of the university com- munity (students, staff, faculty) There is a MAPUS lounge situated on the ground floor of Bernadine Hall. It is a quiet spot (generally) where you can go to study or to relax if you have time between or before’ classes. Alumni Association Scholarship The two above mentioned scholarships, valued at $500. each are open to senior, full-time stu- dents (carrying 5° courses per Semester) who are scheduled to graduate-in May 1987. Awards will be based on academic per- + formance and financial need. Turnout was fair but more support is definitely needed. Those present at the meeting suc- cessfully elected this year’s execu- tive.
