Boutwell, of this port, at the time of the rescue of .52 men from British steamship War- wick, off Grand Mananin 1896,and who was sometime since recognized by the British government bya pair of line marine glasses, has an appointment to meet Sir Louis Dai-ies, the Canadian marine minister, and Hon. John Yeo, at Ottawa, on March 9. As, 18 of the men rescued were pro/vinciiilists the _‘Canadian government has decided to make some suitable recognition of his great and humane service and the gentlemen named have the matter in charge. Captain Surette also expects to meet Prime Minister Laurier. He will probably remain in the provinces for some weeks.
