Three years of instruction from the greatest of Teachers was not enough to pre pare them for the events of that ,week. They had to see their Lead- er, who had shown such control over both men and the powers of Nature. arrested. tortured. convict- ed and basely Iexecuted. They themselves were driven to avoid any possible connection with Him. But then. as we know. in the greatest of His miracles. their Mas r triumphantly rose from the dead. The power and the au- thority that He seemed to have lost during the Passion. He now showed more convincingly than ev- er before. showing that He could overcome even Death itself. WERE WITNESSES During the years to come. the first duty of the Apostles was sim- ply to bear witness to these facts.
