Mrs. Mary Hughes, widow c! the late Peter Hughes. formerly o1 Fort Augustus, P. E. I. The late Mrs. Hughes was lli her 87th year. She was born ln Ireland and came to the Island with her parents at the age or seven. She spent her girlhood days on the St. Peter's Road, near Mount Stewart, where she married the late Peter ‘Hughes, who prede- ceased her by several years. Mrs. Hughes then came to llvo with her dflushter, Mrs. Hayes, and another daughter, Mrs. Dufii‘. who were con- llnllllly at their mother's bedside till the final and came. She was visited frequently during her illness by the Rev. Charles Mc- Carthy. who administered to her the last rites of the Church. The funeral was held from the res-‘ idence o! her daughter.
