Pane....1n ARTICLE VIII — POWERS AND DUTIES OF THE EXECUTIVE OFFICERS '(1) The President shall: (a) be chief executive of the union (b) be official spokesman of the union (c)ca11 all meetings of the union,(counci1,general, executive, annual, emergency, etc.) (d) be responsible for the direction and integration of all activities. (a) be a member of the University Senate; (f) preside over all meetings of the General Assembly and Executive or ask the Ombudsman to do so in his absemce. (g) be-bound to call a council meeting within 48 hours of recieving a petition signed by 5% of the‘student'bo -dy or 2/3 majority in Council requesting such a meet- ing, . (h) prepare a agenda in consultation with the Executive prior to all meetings and publish the agenda 24 hours prior to regular meetings, (i) call Executive meetings prior to regular council meetings, (j) issue a "state of the union address" within 30 days prior to termination of office, (k) carry out resolutions of council when applicable, (1) take the oath of fooice, as administred by the , Ombudsman. (m) issue a statement of direction within 14 days of election. . (n) carry out other duties as required, (0) appoint advisory committees to study topics which council considers pertinent. (2) INTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT shall: \ (a) be responsible for the co-ordination of the activit -ies of the union's sub—organizations, and be respon— sible for them to council, (b) promote communications between the sub-organizations (c) Be a member of the Senate and assume the duties of the President in his absence, (d) perform other duties as required. (3) EXTERNAL VICE PRESIDENT shall? (a) be a member of the Board of Governors, (b) be responsible for community, provincial, national, and internal organizations, and be responsible for the appropriate committees, (c) perform other duties as required. (4)UICE PRESIDENT COMPTROLLER shall: (a) be responsible for all the physical facilities which‘ are student owned or student controlled and be responsi -ble for the appropriate committees, (b) be a co-signing authority with the Treasurer, (c) He chairman of the Coffee Shop Board of Governors if applicable, (d) perform other duties as required. (5)TREASURER shall: (a) be responsible for the financial administration of union funds, _ (b) be Chairman of a Finance committee composed of the Comptroller, Treasurer, and other members of the union as appointed by the council, . (0) submit on request a financial statement of union funds or not less than monthly at council meetings, (d) submit the results of the yearly audit not less than 14 days after termination of office. (a) must permit students to have access to the financial records of the union within 24 hours of request,properly posted, (f) keep regular business hours not less than 10 hours gar week and not less than 1 hour per day, ‘9) keep a clear and accurate account Of all financial transactions of the union, (h) be the co-signing authority with the Comptroller, (i) perform other duties as required. §
