3 A san and serious loss or tire, took
lplace at French Fort, Lot 35, on Sab-
bath evening.wtien :ire barn.-r and other
y outbuildings of Mr. W.irliceO~ven were
burned to the ground. together with ten
head of cattle, fifteen pigs and fifty
hens. A new threshing mill, fanners,
two carts, truck and all other farming
,implements required on a first-class
farm, 150 bushels oats and a lot of hay
and straw, indeed everything about the
barn except the horses were
yburued. Much sympathy is felt
‘for the young man and the
rest ofthe family. He is a son of the
late Christopher Owen. who was killed
jby an accident on the St. Peter’s Road,
fwhen Wallace was only a child. The
family had by perseverance secured
for themselves a comfortable home un-
til the sad accident happened. The
family had just gone to church when
the tire took place. The neighbors had
a hard lime to save the dwelling house
from the flames. Cause of fire un-
known. The loss is estimated at $1000.
