Plans for safeguarding the school children of Charlottetown against diphtheria, of which a number of cases have been reported, were un- dertaken by the City Council at its regular monthly meeting Monday night. On the advice of Dr. W. J. MacMillan. City Health Officer, the Council voted the sum of $500 for the City Board of Health to purchase toaoid to be used in the treatment oi children so as to immuniu against diphtheria. Dr. P. A. Oreelman, Provincial Health officer was pmuntkrid told of the splendid results obtained from this treatment in other Canadian towns and cities, and through him the toxoid will be procured.
