T. F. Walsh national director; Mrs. B. Murphy for sympathy extended in bereavement: Mrs. Preston Hillier for expression of good wishes while ill: Miss Eileen Ryan thank- ing members for their kindness while hospitalized. Six of the sub-division's mem- bers collected for the Red Cross Society during their recent cam- paign. Social Welfare, Dispensary, etc. We are repre- sented on the following organ' - tions: Music Festival Association, Drama Festival Association, Can- adlan institute for the Blind. Can- adian Red Cross Society, P.E.I. Polio Chapter. local and Provin- cial Girl Guide Associatinn. Home and School Association and Citi- zenship Council. Mrs. M. .I. LN.-. Social Service (ionvener. reports that many boxes of clothing were sent to the Catholic Social Welfare Bureau. Several members knit at home and sewing and mending were done at the Bureau making in all .112 articles completed. Two hundred dollars was given in cash to the Bureau and seven well- filled boxes were distributed to needy families at Christmas. We also helped with Social Service Tag Day. etc. Mrs. C. L. lllacbonzlld. our sick-visiting convener. reports that cards were sent to all sick mem- bers and visits were made to homes and hospital whenever pos- sible. Mrs. E. .I. McTague. publicity convener. reported 10 monthly meetings to both papers as well as all other activities using 276 inches of space. Our thanks are due the newspapers for this val- uable publicity. Miss Gertrude Coady and Mrs. Frank Saunders report I satis- factory increase of new members as well as full retention of ex- isting membership. Mrs. J. L. McGuigan, spiritual convener. reports a successful retreat held at Notre Dame Aca- demy in July with Reverend Fath- er Maddigan. C.S.S.R. as retreat master, a communion breakfast held in November. prayers and masses offered for deceased and living members and adoration before the Blessed Sacrament on First Fridays. Mrs. R. J. MacDonald and Mrs, Murray report 4 activities for raising funds all of which were uccessfln. Mrs. W. J. P. Miss Mabel Saunders and Miss .Velda Noye rarried on ad- mirably and in addition took part in Church parades. Rosin and Cookie Day. attended camp and accomplished badge work. Miss Marion Dougan, program convener. contributed very ma- terially to the success of our meetings and tea was served by the members during our social hour. Miss Eileen Ryan, education convener. reports that a com- mittee of our members attend- ed ommencement exercises at Notre Dame Academy and Roch- ford Square and Queen Square schools and the usual prizes given. Mrs, Holland reported two new books donated to the Public Library and two requested. Mrs. Nellie Nicholson reports that the League Magazine sub- scriptions were increased during the year. Due to the efforts of Mrs. F. A. Coyle, two study club groups were organized and under the capable leadership of Reverend Mother Provincial of the Congre- gation of Notre Dame were most instructive and culminated with a pleasant afternoon tea at Notre Dame Academy after which the members took part in Holy Hour in the Convent Chapel. We pause to offer a word of condolence to the families of our deceased members and to the members who suffered the loss of dear ones during the year and assure them that they are not forgotten in our prayers. Our thanks to our Director, Reverend Father P. F. Macdon- aid for his instructions, guidance and words of euwuiagement at all times as we strove to live up to the motto of our League, ”For God and Canada."
