Gou- . Y. Mrs. Earles’ motlher. Mrs. W. C. Wood. formerly‘ of P. E. Island, Canada, now ving in Gouandd, N. Y.. was visiting her daughter and they had gone up stairs w do some work. Mrs. Earlcs later wen-t down stairs to hang out some bedding, whm she heard a noise and ran in to find her mother lying in a pool of blood and trncoziscious at the foot of the stairs. Mm. Wood had evi- dently started down stairs with some quills on her arm and either slipped on the stairs or took a dizzy spell and fell down head- flrsc from the second top step. Luckily the bed clothes checked the fall. However Mrs. Wood suf- fered several cui1s_ and bruises on heir arms and face and a blood clot and a large cut on her fore- head. Dr. R. J. Tuttle was called and relieved the pain. Mrs. Wood was able to ride home later, that but was in bed for s few _ aflcr. she still has some sev- ere marks due to her fell.
