Mr. E. E. Clawson Honored On Eve Of Superannuation Mr. E. E. Clawson. Charlotte- town. retired Marine Agent was honored at a gathering on Mon- day evening, November 20. on the eve of his superannuation. Mr. clawson had left on leave on May 20th. and returned to his office to be guest of honour at the function held by the staffs of the Marine Agency and the Marine Wharf. Mr. Clawson is a native Mari- tlmer having been born in Saint John, N. B.. and had been with the department since April. I914. At that time he was stationed in Ottawa and came to Charlotte- town as district engineer in 1920. He was promoted to the position of Marine Agent in 1925 Joining with the office and wharf staffs in paying tribute to Mr. clawson for his long years of service were the crews of the C. G. S. Correlating of three, widely diversified one-act plays. the pro- ductions introduced to Little Thea- tre audiences I number of new ac- tors Ind Icb-eases, all of whom allowed much promise for the en- tertainment of the future. The nret play to be irueritpd was I. light. youthful comedy which was very happily received by the large audience. Three new members of the LT. ranks brought credit to themselves and to their director in this in-oduction as they performed with In one and stage presence which seemed perfectly natural. The second production was also I comedy. in rather a satirical vein. and brought is new leading man to the footligl-its. The play itself told of I. woman's privilege, and Miss Joan Mccallurri lived up to the title of the play as she dhenged her mind Icain and again as the err- atic young housewife. A drama was the final presenta- tion of the evening and also intro- duced new talent. In this play the audience witnessed an excellent characterization by Miss Mary Moran which was undoubtedly the highlight of acting for the even- ing. As a young bride who had learned that she was to be murder- ed. Miss Moran gave a poignant. sincere performance which is one of the finest to be seen in L.'i'.G. evenings for some time. The casts of the three plays are to be commended very highly on the excellence of their perform- ances. As Miss Iphigenie Arsenault, vice-president of L. T. G.. stated in her opening remarks. the help which the more experienced mem- bers can give these new players, will assist inuneasilrably in develop- ced entertainment for the audiences of tomorrow.
