A settlement has been made, Morris executing a second mortgage of $509 oa his house, and giving notes for the remaiader of the amount due. Teacuers’ Insrirute—The_ closing meeting of this institution was held on Saturday evening, and the proceedings were of avery interesting character. It was decided, with a view to enlarging the scope of the institution, that the name be changed to “The Educational Association” of Charlottetown. A committee of seven, consisting of Messrs. Seaman, Owen, Lan- drigan, Arsenault, and Misees MacMurray, Fayne and Wadman was appointed to organize the Association and formulate a plan for next year’s work. The officera- elect for the ensuing year are E.S. Stew- ar’, President, and IraYeo, Secretary. The executive committee will consist of the organization committee. Word comes from Philadelphia that the 350 frame houses, built by the Carnegie firm within the enclosure of the mill at Homestead, were destroyed by fire one day last week.
