The audience room was crowded to its utmost capacity. The entertainment, rendered solely by lo- cal talent, was the best ever given in the community, and could ,not be easily excelled in any of our rural districts. This consisted of choruses, duets, solos, action song by seven little girls, readings and dialogues. Each part, without exception, was executed in a most happy, natural and effective manner. The committee, as well as the participants, older and younger, are to be congratulat- ed in furnishing an entertainment so highly appreciated by the public, as also upon the financial success. Mrs. J. W. Rodd in o capable manner pre- sided at the organ. Benj. Carter, of the city, assisted by D. Mclnnis and Geo. Richards, auctioned the bask- ets. The proceeds amounted to S'l04, from which about $10 are to be de- ducted for expenses.
