An Excellent Poultice for Rheumatism or Acute Pains.—A teaspoonful of cayenne pepper, two teaspoorfuls of mustard, and fuur tablespoonfuls of flaxseed meal. Mix with boiling water. Chapped Hands. — An ounce each of spermaceti, white beeswax, gum camphor, and two ounces of almond oil. Put ina tin cup, place in a vessel of boiling water, and melt. Every time the hands are wet riba little of this over them. Neuralgia.—Au old lady writes to the Tribune that she has suilered much from this distressing compiaint, and has received great reiief from taking three or four drops of red lavender ina little water, or on & luuap of sugar, two or three limes a day. Sore Mouth from Calomel, ete.—An infu- siv1 of low-blackberry leaves, sweetened with honey. Moisten frequently. For Cankered Sore Mouth. — Pulverize equal parts of borox and sugar to very fine powder, take up a little upon the point ofa penknife, and blow it into the mouth ofa nursing child. for a Seald from Steam or Water.— Moisten the spot with water or milk, and apply fine salt, as much as will adhere. This will usually prevent a blister. Cure for Gravel.—Sweeten your tea with honey and sugar in equal parts. Never has been known to fail. If possible, secure honey made from clover-blossoms instead of wild flowers and buckwheat. lustaptaneous Emetie.—lwo teaspoon- fuls mustard mixed in warm water,—For a chid with croup it relieves at once. A tablespoonful of lard, warmed and given, Is an ipstaplaneous emetic. Cure for Fever and Ague.—An ounce of J’eruvian bark, pulverized, half an ounce of cream of tartar, half au, ouuce of cloves; bottle with port wine. -Take,a teaspoonfu! three times a-day,or a little more if the stomach will bear it. ‘ake dai y when not uitering from an attack.
