The sick committee then gave their report. and the school com- niittee asked that a scrubbing brush be purchased which was passed by a motion. A continued paper on interior decorating was read by the members. A very interesting "imp" contest. conducted by Mrs. Waldo Stewart, proved quite entertaining with the president and secretary as win- nr-is. New program committee for February will be Mrs. Harold Mor- X'3W. The president. Mrs. H. P. Cud- more. then presented an Institute pin to the retiring president. Mrs. Ira Auld, which was graciously acknowledged. The members will answer roll call at their February meeting by some interesting item concerning another Institute. This meeting will be at Mrs. Earl Carter's. Feb. 11th. Lunch committee will be Mrs. Rowe Hughes, Mrs. Harry Gander and Mrs. Bent. Newson. Collection amounted to 81.85 and the meeting closed with "The King”. after which a bountiful lunch was served by the hostess, followed by a social hour. TEN MILE HOUSE W. I. The monthly meeting of the Ten Mile House Women's Insti- tute was held at the home of Mrs .Leo Mullen on January 15. with eight members present. The meeting opened with H16 Insiiiutc "Ode" followed by the "Creed" and the minutes of the last. meeting were read and ap- proved. The roll call was tins- wcrcri by a donation for grab hag. proceeds amounting to 51.15. Copies of the "institute News" were then distributed among the members. A music teacher for school was also discussed and the secretary was asked to contact same. Authorization was given for pay- ment of bills for school treats. sick and shttt-ins and overseas parcels. The minutes of last meeting were read. approved and signed. The School committee reported no needs and Sick committee re- ported treating shut-ins at Christ- mas and visiting several sick. It was decided to move the sink over from the school to the hall. if one was needed for the school the In- stitute was to replace it. it was also decided to buy the books for the school. several members offer- ed to sponsor card parties at the hall to take place during the month. It was also decided that each man put up extra ice this winter. the extra ice to be used for the ice cream socials during the sum- mer.
