Sabre leis Set New Record OTTAWA, (CP) —— An RCAF test pilot flying a Sabre jet Sun- day broke the Vancouver-to - Oi- tawa air speed record established by the RCAF's Comet jetliner. Sqdn. Ldr. Robert Christie, 30. of Vancouver, flew from Sea Is- land airport at Vancouver to Up- lands airport here in three hours and 46 minutes. The preyious rec- ord time for the 2,298-mils flight set by the Comet was four hours and 25 minutes. In setting the new mark. Sqdn. Ldr. Christie also established a new record time for the Winni- peg to Ottawa leg of the flight. He made that part of the trip in one hour and 51 minutes com- pared with the two hours and 10 minutes taken by the Comet. Sqdn. Ldr.
