(Recess records) www.recessrecords.com Mark Delahanty, the band runs through an impressive collec- tion of 13 songs on this album — which happens to be their Fear of Drinking is a Vancouver based band that revolves around two guitar- ists, Tim Readman and Gerard Kerr. This being said, the band is at its best when other musicians join in, suchas Tom Neville (fiddle, mandolin, bass), Victor Smith (fiddle, flute, whistles), Brendan Rideout This is the first full length release from Furious George, an American punk band. There are 16 tracks on this album, and all but one suck. The highlight (surrounded by lowlights) of this album is “Gilligan”, which features the unmistakable vocals of Joey bum. Toptracks on this album include: “Make Up Your Mind”, a rocker that show- (bass, whistles), and Revellie Nixon(drumsand percussion). I’ve come to the conclu- sion that the problem with this cd is that the vocals come across aS unemotional and anemic—definitely not some- thing that works on this album. That being said, the album does havea few highlights: “Mining Ramone. Unfortunately, that’s the only good song, the rest don’t even warrant mention- ing. What else is there to like about the album? That being said, this is an enjoyable al- bum. a man against his will (which was a popular way for the army to keep its numbers up in years gone by). I’m sure that Fear of Drinking would be more en- joyable live — unfortunately whatever energy they may have live doesn’ ttranslate onto this cd. about this album. I definitely wouldn’t recommend anyone to buy this cd. Save your money — or if you want a decent punk album go buy something bythe Smug- glers or the Ramones (just avoid their 80s material).
