The UPEI de- bating society extends a hearty welcome to anyone who is inter- ested in debating. Develop your skills or watch ours develop! An informational meeting will be held 7:00 P.M. Thursday Jan- uary 12 Robertson Library room 109. At that time we will de- cide the day and time of weekly meetings. Weekly meetings in- _. clude impromptu public speaking and debating. We have three major debates planned up for this term. In January we plan to go to either the Carleton or McGill tourna- ments. February launches the ‘annual Holland College Debate. The Nationals will be held at Queens this year. A former UPEI debater, Barry Linkletter who is presently doing gradu- ate work in Chemistry at McGill, joined McGill’s debating team. And doing well, I might add. Barry said he was third place in a round of public speaking at the Central Canada Championships Leger Cup at Concordia until his last speech. An audience. of 150 people plus TV crews took their toll.. Barry came in fifth which is fantastic..Congratulations Barry!
