In his boyhood days he worked for a time in a shoe factory. ulema A MAN named William McCallum, haul- ing logs in the woods, at Hastings, Oum- berland, N. 8., a few days ago, was killed by a tree felled by another man. His brother and a horse had a narrow escape at the time, the tree falling within two feet of them.
